Hades is a one-of-a-kind rogue-lite that does a brilliant job of marrying its fast-paced action with its persistent, progressing story through a vividly reimagined Greek mythological underworld.
The genre of point-and-click adventures has almost fallen into oblivion in recent years. Legendary adventures such as Monkey Island hardly make it to the top of the sales charts, let alone in everyone’s mouth. To change this, I have collected the best 10 point-and-click games of 2020 for you. Wasteland 3 transports you to a contaminated North America in the 22nd century. The knowledge of the two previous games makes the new RPG with turn-based battles even more entertaining, but it is not absolutely necessary. You take control of a squad of Desert Rangers who are badly decimated after the spectacular end of Part 2 and are looking for new allies in other US states. An offer from freezing cold Colorado sounds too good to be true. Saul Buchanan called “The Patriarch”, controls large parts of the country from Colorada Springs. This self-proclaimed ruler offers the rangers equipment, food and support. The only condition: The Rangers are to bring the three children of the Patriarch to reason, with whom Buchanan is in dispute.
In 2019 there were countless great indie games that convinced with great concepts, cool gameplay and emotional stories. Even as a customer you are completely blown away – and even as a gaming journalist with a strong connection to the indie sector it is almost impossible to keep track of things.
With Watch Dogs 2, Ubisoft creates the trick of giving us as PC gamers a good feeling before we even start the hacker adventure. Because already during the installation we are asked if we want to install the High-Res-Pack, which implements especially high on solved textures, in addition to the main program.
Overall Crusader Kings 3 presents itself as a finished game. The feature set is larger than in the release of the predecessor, all mechanics work and are by and large quite well balanced – although resourceful players will surely find the one or other exploit, which will never be completely avoided in such a complex simulation. The developers do a clean job with Crusader Kings 3.
